Brothers Fiorenzo and Giulio Fratini founded Rifle, the company that would revolutionize the denim market. Born from postwar family tradition, the brand soon established itself as an icon of innovation and quality in jeanswear.

Their sons Corrado and Marcello acquired two major licenses, like Spitfire Jeans and Fruit of the Loom, continuing the family’s entrepreneurial legacy in the fashion industry.

Fingen is founded. The acquisition of Van Cleef & Arpels marked a decisive step into the high jewellery sector, while its subsequent sale to the Richemont Group consolidated Fingen’s international standing and opened new strategic opportunities.

Fingen continued its expansion by acquiring licenses for major global brands including Calvin Klein, Cotton Belt, Guess, Jean Paul Gaultier, Best Company, and Yves Saint Laurent.

After consolidating its success in fashion licensing, Fingen began diversifying into retail and hospitality, focusing on large-scale, high-impact projects.

RDM was established as the Group’s division dedicated first to Retail operations and later to overseeing all projects, reinforcing a strategic and operational approach across multiple development areas.

Together with McArthurGlen, Fingen revolutionized the concept of outlets by creating Italy’s first outlet village: Serravalle Designer Outlet (2000). This innovative model transformed the shopping experience and became a benchmark for the world’s most prestigious brands.

In hospitality, Fingen acquired and restored the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, repeatedly awarded as the most beautiful hotel in the world, and Palazzo Mattei (2000). In 2004, the restoration of Palazzo Tornabuoni, today home to one of the most exclusive Club Apartments in the world, marked a new era in enhancing Florence’s heritage. At the same time, the Prime Street project brought together iconic names such as Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Bottega Veneta, and Cartier, creating a new luxury hub in the heart of Florence.

With the opening of three luxury hotels in the ski resort of Val di Luce, Fingen strengthened its presence in hospitality.

While restoration work began on Palazzo Dorottya in Budapest, the outlet concept introduced in Italy expanded to Asia with the launch of the first Florentia Village in China. The overwhelming success of the initiative led to the creation of RDM Asia, which today manages seven outlet centres, including the Hong Kong boutique outlet opened in 2017.

Fingen became a partner of the Silk Road Holdings fund, which includes several real estate ventures in China.

Following the sale of the Argentiera project, Tenuta Fratini was founded: a winery in the heart of Bolgheri led by Ludovica Fratini. A few years later, Ville Serristori was launched, a residential complex nestled in the Tuscan landscape between countryside and coast.

Under the leadership of Jacopo Fratini, the Group continues to chart new directions with ambitious projects in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and the United States, further strengthening its position in the outlet sector, the company’s core business, and on the global stage.
